Auf Ruf

Mazal tov on the upcoming wedding! The Aufruf is a chance to get a special blessing before a wedding.  The blessing can take place any time the torah is taken out before the actual wedding.  We usually celebrate these blessings on Shabbat.  In our community the couple is called to the Torah together and the clergy give them a special blessing under a chuppah.  Many families view it as a “warm up” for the big day.
